Lean Management and 5S in Warehousing

Overview: This course introduces the principles and philosophy of Lean Management and explains how they can be applied to improve warehouse performance. It covers the distinction between value-added and non-value-added activities and presents Kaizen as a driver for continuous improvement. 
Participants learn to identify the seven wastes of Lean and understand how they affect warehouse efficiency. Particular attention is given to the three sources of inefficiency known as Muda, Mura and Muri: waste, unevenness and overburden. 
The course shows how these concepts translate into practical warehouse activities such as receiving, handling, storage, picking and inventory management. It also explains how Lean Manufacturing principles can be adapted to the specific constraints of warehouse operations. 
The second part introduces the 5S (+1) methodology, its origin, principles and expected benefits. 
Participants discover how 5S can improve workplace organization, safety, housekeeping and operational efficiency. 
Practical implementation methods are illustrated through warehouse applications. 
Real examples and case situations help participants understand how Lean and 5S can support sustainable continuous improvement in Oil & Gas warehouses

Audience: This course is primarily designed for Head of Warehouse and Warehouse team.
It will also be beneficial for the other actors of the Supply Chain: Logisticians (who have a strong involvement in Material and Warehouse Management and are involved in physical storage and preservation of Material) and actors from the technical departments: Technical Administrators and end users who are leading actors in the Preservation of their equipment.

Deliverables: This training provides participants with practical methods to improve the efficiency, organization, safety, and reliability of warehouse operations using Lean Management and 5S principles.
The course focuses on the specific environment of Oil & Gas warehouses, where inventory may include critical spare parts, drilling and production equipment, consumables, chemicals, lifting equipment, and high-value materials. 
Participants will learn how to identify waste, improve warehouse flows, optimize workplaces, and implement sustainable 5S practices without compromising operational availability or HSE requirements.

Certificate: Throughout the training, participants will have to answer quizzes and do exercises allowing them to assess their acquired knowledge and good understanding of the subject.
A Certificate of attendance will be remitted upon completion of Training and Evaluation.
